Hi there, I’m Amy, the founder of Uncoveries.
Thank you for visiting my site. For you to get to know me a bit more, I’d like to share my story.
My process of uncovering a meaningful life for myself started the moment I decided I’d had enough.
I’d had enough of living a life that just didn’t feel right, like I was wearing the wrong-sized shoes, increasing in discomfort over the years to the point of being unbearable. What’s more, I was done with working years at a job I knew wasn’t right for me, being exhausted all the time, irritable, unhealthy with a diagnosis unusual for someone my age, uninterested in the things I used to enjoy doing when I was younger, and indecisive on any of the paths I could see before me.
And that was the problem: I couldn’t see during the time, not clearly anyway.
I sure tried though. Over the past 10 years, I’ve studied numerous books and articles on psychology, personality/working-style theories, career help, meditation, and various other self-development content. I sought the advice of career counselors, coaches, therapists, psychologists, and motivational speakers. I listened to them talk about transformation, alignment, confidence, authenticity, passion, success, positive thinking—these words they explained with expertise and credibility, but I couldn’t manage to apply to myself no matter how I tried.
It took me all those years of trying too hard, but it finally happened for me, my “aha” moment.
In connecting with what was truly meaningful to me, it became clear it was elusively buried underneath the whole time. I just needed to uncover all the conditioned crap blocking me from listening, seeing, and believing it. With the greater clarity, things began moving fast, and it all felt absolutely right. Sure, all the materials and expert advice helped. Yes, everything happened in its own time and reason. Of course, it wasn’t easy and required me to do the work with lots of patience and some pain. And yes, I’m still in the process of figuring it out for myself as we are all constantly evolving. But the process of uncovering didn’t need to be as complicated.
Being the analytical and reflective type, I’ve broken down my experience into applicable wisdom and strategies I’ve learned along the way. I share the stories of my journey and others’ to inspire you to uncover what’s meaningful for you.
I’d had enough, and I want as many others to say it with me.
I’m excited to support you in uncovering the mental blocks and designing the life you really want. I’d be honored to get to know you and help in any way I am able.
I wish you only the best on your path, wherever it may take you.
